Visualizing Writings

As a writer, sometimes the hardest (yet most fun) part of the job is visualizing what your work will be like. Sometimes, I feel like I’m writing a movie for television or for film, and I visualize the characters with a more movie-like appearance (higher budget animation, better use of colors and shading, a more unique appearance that may implement some CGI here and there, the works, etc.). Other times, I feel like I’m writing a theatrical cartoon or a TV episode, and the visual style would compliment as such (vibrant animation, bright colors with a more natural hue/toning, higher focus on character personalities and reactions to environments and gags, etc.). It’s what you see that drives your work and less about what words you say.

The hardest part comes from the fact that I have to put it all into words after visualizing it. I gotta admit, it’s endearing, if not a bit stressful when you must come back to your thesaurus to say more than 65 words in your internal vocabulary.

I love writing. Even if you can’t see what’s written on the page, I just want to open your imagination. Who knows, I may be doing it already and we just don’t know it.
